How to Make the Best Use of ITAP

  1. Ask questions! They’re there to help. Remember there are no bad questions and there is more than one way to do things.
  2. Everyone has a different learning style. Do you learn better by reading instructions first, being shown first, or trying it out on your own? Let the Assistant know what you prefer so they can best help you.
  3. Informational Technology Assistants cannot fix broken hardware or install new software. Call a work order in to TAC for these types of problems.

To Get Help From ITAP

  1. Call the Technology Assistance Center at 231-591-4822 (4TAC).
  2. Request that someone from ITAP help you and what you are looking to learn about.
  3. Give them your information and what specifically you need help with (or at least what specific software) and what times might be good for you, plus the urgency of your need.
  4. An ITAP student will contact you to finalize the appointment.
  5. Based on what you are asking for, we will arrange a student with the needed experience in that topic.
