- A values statement in writing would clarify what the center’s role in emerging technologies.
- What should be in this statement?

- Instead of looking at how Mediasite (or any other solution) will fill needs on campus, why not determine the needs of the campus first and then research which solutions would fills those needs best.

- These could be used in multiple tracks taking 16-24 hours to complete
- Blackboards F2F training has 8 modules
- An overview presentation would be given to all faculty
- Questionnaire given to find out the user’s needs
- Give all faculty essentials training
- Offer other modules for more specific tools and concepts
- What are the individual needs as far as levels, tools, and what they want to learn?
- Refresh the trainers on the training materials
- How can we make the training more accessible and attractive for busy faculty? What kind of packaging is needed?
- Should we have linear or modular type training? Modular training was decided on including:
- Lesson plans to keep faculty and trainers on track
- Activities
- Online Training
- We need course designer training
- Let’s encourage faculty who will not be around this summer, but who want to be included in the fall pilot to attend the training pilot this spring.
- Summer Training
- During the summer, 2 day F2F trainings will be scheduled – at least one in the early summer and one in late summer.
- Also have advanced application trainings available during the summer – those tier 2 training sessions.
- Necessary Modules:
- Getting started
- Migrating
- Essentials
- Summary
- All faculty in the training pilot will attend a 2-hour F2F getting started with FerrisConnect presentation.
- All faculty will be given a course with all of the training modules included.
- Bill will set up this course and give access to the team for further development.
- The plan is to have all the modules as well as getting started in the training, modules can be set using selective release if not all faculty need/want all of the modules.
- Optional for faculty: a 1on1 consultation with a trainer to determine if their course needs to be rebuilt, just cleaned up and migrated, or if there is a rapid deployment approach available to them.
- After the training package is developed it will be taken to the trainers who will have their refresher before the beginning of March, but after the production server is live (February 19).
